Rambut Raya Part 2

On Sunday, I found myself back in the salon seat at Cu's & Do's Nail Bar & Hair Lounge to get the second part of my hair makeover done. Last week, if you recall, I had my hair trimmed and rebonded. This time, I was going to get it coloured and highlighted. I wanted to go for a brown base with gold-ish streaks. So Yen, my hair stylist, recommended that I try the L'oreal Professional Majirel range as they had just launched some new colours.

So I made it for the 1:30pm appointment with Yen and let me just say, she did a wonderful job. After giving my hair a light shampoo (a welcome reprieve after 3 days of not being allowed to wash my hair!) and blow-drying it straight, she deftly applied the highlight cream to my hair...

It's Samara (The Ring)! With foil in her hair!

After completing that, she then applied another cream to the rest of my hair. This was for the base colour - a nice, dark brown to offset the golden tones of the highlights.

Once that was complete, my hair was wrapped in cling film and I was to wait for the chemicals to do their job.

During the long wait, I decided to get a manicure as well as have my nails buffed and polished... laa-di-daa!

Fu-yoh! I felt like a right celeb what with getting my hair did and my nails done! I have to say though that the girl did a good job. I'm not really a manicure/pedicure type of gal - this was only probably my fifth experience ever! And so far those experiences have been pretty expensive. But I have to say, Cu's & Do's is extremely affordable. I only had to pay around RM18.80 (if I remember correctly) for a basic manicure and another RM10.80 for the buff and polish. And on that particular Sunday, the girls were really busy as the customers kept streaming in.

Yen decided to add some toner to my hair to further darken the highlights. She was very thorough and knew what I wanted. Even when she was working on other customers' hair, she would check in on mine every now and then. When she was satisfied, she left in a treatment cream for 10 minutes which resulted in my getting soft, sleek tresses. Lovely! After the wash and blow, and a few more snips here and there, this is the final result. And I'm VERY happy with it. Love it! I was told that the colour would get lighter in the next few days. No complaints there! I was even able to showcase my lovely, new locks at a friend's wedding that night...

Oh. What time was I done? 6:15pm!

And now my hair looks great, smells great and feels great! Guess I'm ready for Raya! :)

And if you happen to be celebrating Raya, have a great and safe one!

SELAMAT HARI RAYA MAAF ZAHIR & BATIN!!
