Cherry

I recently had to fork out a sum of money to top haul my car engine. What happened was that my 13 year old Cherry had died on me right in the middle of Jalan Maarof on a Friday night, of all days. I was heading for an event that of course I ended up not going for on account of my car overheating and the battery dying simultaneously. Just my luck.

But what I find the most frustrating is that the money I spent was supposed to be to save up for a new car. And I suspect Cherry knew it, and so she decided to act up. I've been told that you should never talk about getting a new car within earshot of your current one otherwise it'll give you trouble. And it's happened more than a few times to people I know so it seems more than a mere coincidence, as I had been casually saying it's about time I consider getting a new car.

So, Cherry got jealous and decided to teach me a lesson so I ended up paying for it lah - literally! Had to top haul my engine at my regular workshop and I got it back just yesterday. So far it's been running better - more smooth, less noise and rattle. It sounds cleaner, even. So I hope the money was well worth it.

Now my plan is to "ikat perut" as they say, start from scratch and try to save as much as I can over the next couple of months to collect a decent down payment for a brand new car. I've been driving my 2nd hand car for 8 years now and I think it's about time that I treat myself to a new one, don't you think?

Wish me luck!

In the meantime, here are pics of my Cherry during her operation...

You should get a new one. Soon.
Have u heard about a scheme offered by Toyota? It's their own financial scheme for clients yang nak beli kereta baru. Google at their web. Info is there. Didn't know about it until we entered a Toyota showroom few months ago. They have the zero down payment scheme something like that.

p/s: my car also merajuk on us when we talked about changing to a new one! Betul kan what they said about it?

well, if i;'m not mistaken, she is trying to save up for the car...i think lah. true, many places offers 0% DP, but the kill u with the bank interest n stuff, plus, its advisable that u put in heavy DP, so the interest charges u incur would be less. Car loan n House loan differs, House loan u pay more, u might ended up paying lesser toward the end. car loan, once u agreed on the amount, no matter how much u pay, u wold still pay the interest charges calculated at the beginning.

car loan formula

total monthly payment:
Car Price = A (total loan taken after minusing the Down Payment)
interest = B
years of payment = C

((A*B*C) + A)/ (C * 12)

so, the answer u get is the amount u pay per month for "C" number of years.

Try the new Toyota Vios Dilly. Its will be launch this friday and if you talk with the salesman properly. You can bypass the high interest rate and get around 2.6% loan for it. Take care and hope everything is alright.

If not maybe can get a Honda City or Hyundai Getz.

Most car seller nowdays dont need deposit and can be finance entirely as long you show them your pay slip and all is done. But recommended getting from official car seller as its the best. Second hand I dont trust much as ppl sell it surely got problem.

Take care girl and hope everything is ok with you

best cars to buy are those that you could fork out cold hard cash for. or at worst take a loan for a quarter or less of the value of the car.

2nd hand cars aren't all that bad. it's just the 2nd hand car dealers that are.
