NANTA Cookin'

It had been a while since I last got to catch a proper show at Plenary Hall, KLCC but when I was offered tickets to watch NANTA Cookin', I jumped at the chance.

We were in high spirits when JD, our producer Yin and I got into our seats at Row BBB.

While we were waiting for the show to start, we realised that on stage, there was a screen which actually had instructions for the audience to clap, cheer and even sing a birthday song. They claimed "Today is our head chef's birthday so please sing him a birthday song" and that's exactly what everyone did and it was so much fun!

I didn't know what to expect but I thought to myself "This must be really good because of all the rave reviews". So I leaned forward in my seat in anticipation of what was to come when finally... the lights dimmed down and the stage lights came on.

It started off with four shadowy figures appearing on-stage, playing what looked like kitchen utensils as if they were musical instruments. It started off slow before it grew to a rising crescendo and suddenly the music came into full bloom and the four performers took off their dark robes, revealing their chef's outfits underneath and they started dancing across the stage.

But rather than go through each scene and describe them here (mainly because my memory is crap), I'd just like to say that this is definitely a show that you don't want to miss. I laughed so hard that I lost all my energy by the end of the show, Yin laughed till her face hurt and JD laughed till he cried!

You'll marvel at how creative the performers were with the kitchen equipment - from plates to knives and even vegetables. In fact, they even cooked for real on stage! And where they got the energy, I don't know... and the three of us agreed that the sole female act in the show was HOT!

It was also a very interactive show as they even engaged members of the audience to participate. Definitely a show for the whole family to enjoy. You'd even be lucky to walk away with a lil souvenir - they threw colourful, plastic balls right into the audience at the end of the show! So people below us were collecting balls to take back home with them!

At the end of the show, we were all tired from all the laughing...

And here's a taste of what we saw :

What a great way to spend a Friday night! :)
