In case you missed out on a whole week’s worth of radio, JD and I had been running a sort of contest on our Breakfast Show where we offered a blind Valentine’s Day date to two of our listeners. Over the first two days, we had listeners who had called up and wanted to participate and we even had other listeners nominate their single siblings and friends. In the end we narrowed it down to six people.

We had given our six semi-finalists the task to come up with the most creative sentences possible with the words “red, hot, Valentine and sweaty”. And we could only choose two winners – one lady and one gentleman. In the end, Theresa Goh, Communications Manager of Traders Hotel KL who had made the blind date event possible, made it easy for the both of us – she gave the prize to all six of them!
So that Sunday, 14th February, JD and I played host to our lucky listeners....
Desmond was the first to arrive and presented me with a rose! Not just any rose, but a perfumed one made of cloth that would be sure to not die on me in a few days time. In fact, he impressed the other ladies by getting them each a rose as well! Very nicely done, Desmond! ;) And his wasn't the only surprise - Roni decided to serenade us with a song!

Sadly, Theresa was out of town that day, but being the ultimate professional, she made sure that everything was taken care of in her absence. The waiters at Skybar, headed by Linges, were very attentive despite the fact that it was a busy Sunday for them.
Despite the fact that all six listeners had never met, they clicked practically immediately! They warmed up to each other so well that JD and I didn’t even feel that we needed to be around to make sure there were would be no awkward silence among them coz they all just couldn’t stop chatting happily away! It was great! And by the end of the day, they all even went to watch the Valentine’s Day movie together! Wow!
Plus we were seated at their cabanas by the pool, the view of the city from above was amazing...
...and we were kept being served food and drinks! And with the Sunday Brunch promotion, you can enjoy unlimited cocktails / mocktails from their selected menu.
JD highly recommended the mocktail called The Matador (cue Spanish music). Call it a fancy looking energy drink that will get you bouncing off the walls if you have too many like JD usually ends up doing. It’s a mix of Red Bull, passionfruit juice and grenadine. Delish! So we all ended up having a few rounds of that...
Lunch will be served and people can eat as much as they want. You can choose from a selected menu which cover Healthy, Light and Easy, Sandwiches, Hamburgers and Grilled items, salads, sushi maki and for dessert, ice-cream! Mmmm…

And that is what the Sunday Brunch promotion is all about – pampering yourself. And we all enjoyed ourselves so much so that we didn’t realize how much time flew by – we were there from 12 noon till 5pm! And how could we not? We not only got to wine and dine by the pool, we were actually given free use of the pool as well! We already told our winners to bring along their swimwear but I guess they were too shy coz they never did. And they regretted it later on coz JD and I brought ours and we had a great time swimming in the pool!
Skybar even loaned us fluffy white bathrobes to wear! And if you choose to, you can purchase the robes for yourself!

And that’s not all! All of us got a free 15 min neck and shoulder massage! Everybody was excited when they heard about that!

So if you’re looking to do something different on a Sunday afternoon, I highly recommend going for the Sunday Brunch at Skybar @ Trader’s Hotel KL. It’s well worth it and you’ll enjoy yourself. We certainly did!
