I’ve turned into a Giuliana and Bill fan.
When I first saw the promos, I thought “Aw man.. not ANOTHER reality show!” but, I don’t know what it is but ever since I tuned in to it out of curiosity, I’ve been hooked.
I think it was the interaction between the two of them who call each other “Rancic!” or “Dipandi!” on most occasions. Also, I was interested to see how the married couple dealt with their long-distance relationship with her living and working in LA as an E! anchor while he remained in the Windy City of Chicago doing real estate. Especially since both of them love their jobs and the only way to make it work is to take turns to visit each other.
Most recently I caught an episode of them taking the “Rancic Challenge” and it was very heart-warming to see how they tackled each challenge as a couple, particularly the one which involved heights. And Giuliana is now famously known for being scared of flying and yes, heights. And the task at hand was very scary as they both had to walk across stretched wiring and they had to lean into each other for support. I certainly don’t think I could’ve gone through with it. Of course they were hooked up to harnesses and supports as a safety precaution so that if they fell of the wire, it wouldn’t be to the cold, hard ground below them.
Bill kept telling her to look into his eyes, that it was going to be okay and don’t look down. She looked down. She panicked because her fear of heights got the better of her so they fell off and ended up being second to last. She was in tears but Bill was very supportive of her and said she did well, knowing that it was a terrifying experience for her.

Another episode had her participating in “Are You Smarter Than A 5th Grader” and Bill couldn’t be there to support her because he was invited to go up with the Air Force Thunderbirds – Bill loves to fly. Giuliana wasn’t very happy about the idea at first but she relented because it was something she knew he loved so she supported him even though it scared her to death of the thought of him flying. But Bill surprised her by sending her a video message just before she had to play the game, telling her he knows she’ll do great and that actually helped with her confidence and she managed to answer enough questions to raise over $11,000.
They're both so different. Bill was the first to win in The Apprentice and watching the show, one can see why. He's very confident, takes control of things, likes to try new things, is Giuliana's knight in shining armor and he knows what he wants and he goes out and gets it.
Giuliana is at times portrayed as being a lil ditzy on the show, but when she's at work, she's really good at what she does. She's always been very independent. She has a close knit family and despite not being as much of a risk taker as Bill, most of the time she'll end up taking the plunge anyway.
So I guess that is what draws me to the series… they both have different personalities, but together they fit. I like watching how they deal with each different situation and the support they give to each other as husband and wife... it doesn't have the drama of the Kardashians or the diva-ness of Kimora; instead, it's positive and encouraging to watch and now I find myself hoping that they'll succeed in making a baby and starting a family.
And I truly hope that their marriage lasts and doesn't end up as another statistic in celebrity marriage breakdowns. Cos these two are lucky to have found each other...
